The clinical, psychosocial, and economic burden of cystic fibrosis lung disease in the era of CFTR modulator therapy

Although treatment with cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator modulator therapies has resulted in a significant reduction in the clinical and psychosocial burden of CF lung disease, a substantial residual burden still exists. Given the expected increases in life expectancy following the introduction of CFTR modulator therapies, this burden is likely to continue into old age.
